| Will | 28 July 1839 (Age 69) Hackthorn, , Lincolnshire, England Citation Details: LCC Wills 1839/179 Text: Main Will: This is the last Will and Testament of me Letitia Hewit Widow of the Parish of Hackthorn in the County of Lincoln. First I avict? that after my funeral expenses and fair debts and the expense of proving this my Will be fully paid, I give and bequeath to my Son John Hewit the sum of one Shilling, To my Daughter Elizabeth Hewit the sum of one Shilling & to my other Daughter Sarah Hewit the sum of one Shilling I also gove and bequeath to my Grandson Joseph Beacock on his arriving at the age of Twenty on years the sum of Forty eight Pounds but if he happen to die before that time the money to be equally divided amongst my survising (sic) Children or their Heirs and that the Yearly Interest of the above sum be paid to David Beacock his Uncle during the time he shall remain and abide with him - and if the Said Joseph Beacock shall be apprenticed to any trade before he arrives at the age of twenty one years with the consent of my Executor in Trust? whom I now appoint and declare to be John Bratton of Hackthorn in the County of Lincoln, I avict? the said John Bratton me May? out of the Forty eight Pounds whatever sum it may cost for binding him to that trade. In witness of I the said Letitia Hewit have to this my Will set my hand and mark on the Bottom. This the Twenty eighth Day of July in the Year of out Lord On Thousand eight Hundred and Thirty nine Letitia Hewit her X mark signed sealed published and declared by the said Letitia Hewit as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses Thereto? John Blissit Lucy Bratton On reverse: On the Twenty eighth day of August 1839 John Bratton the Executor within named was duly sworn and also made Oath that the whole of the Personal Estate and Effects of the Deceased at the time of her death did not amount in value to the sum of One Hundred Pounds. Before me ? Surragate The Testatrix died on the } 29th day of July 1839 } On the enclosing sleeve: Appeared personally John Blisset of Hackthorn in the County of Lincoln Labourer and make Oath and said that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Letitia hewit Late of Hackthorne aforesaid Widow deceased hereunto annexed beginning thus "This is the last Will and Testament of me Letitia Hewit Widow of the Parish of Hackthorn" ending thus "the Twenty eighth Day of July in the Year of out Lord On Thousand eight Hundred and Thirty nine" and thus signed "Letitia Hewit her X mark" And this Despondent further said that the said Will was signed at the foot or end thereof by the said Testatrix in the presence of this Despondent and of Lucy Bratton the other subscribed Witness ?I hereto? who were both present at the same time and did afterwards attest and subscribe the said Will in the presence of the said Testatrix Sworn on the Twenty eighth day of } August On thousand eight hundred } and thirty nine Before me } John Blissit R Garvey?
